Throughout the day and at night, snow-cats travel over the trails, peeling, slicing, aerating and remolding the snow, leaving in their place, superior gliding surfaces. Each trail is 20 feet wide and laid with two sets of diagonal striding tracks as well as a skating lane down the middle. After major snow storms of two to three feet, it takes over 100 man hours to reset the entire track system at Royal Gorge.
